Testimonials

With Smother we had something special - a dark twisting thriller with a focus drama about contemporary Irish women set in the west of Ireland, and written by a unique talent from that region in Kate O’Riordan – WRAP has been an invaluable partner on our journey to making this real and over three seasons has providing essential support and resources that have allowed us to bring our captivating family drama to life. On a TV project of this scope the investment from WRAP adds so much to what the audience at home will see on the screen.

As a producer who is proud to be from the West of Ireland, I have been passionate about bringing top quality work to regions around the country. This can often be challenging for production budgets so WRAP has been vital in providing investment that has allowed us to bring international projects such as Wild Mountain Thyme with Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan to County Mayo, Death of a Ladies’ Man starring Gabriel Byrne to Connemara, and the upcoming Four Letters of Love, featuring Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter to Donegal. This support is crucial in helping us bring these projects to the west and in doing so help to grow an industry base and develop local pools of talent in those areas

Investment from WRAP has been invaluable to us. As a regional producer with a large-scale, international co-production in Obituary, having the support to shoot in the regions and showcase the wealth of crew, talent, locations and scenery here is very important to me. Since I first pitched the series at Ardán’s FÍS TV Summit in Galway back in 2020, it’s a direct line from that point standing on that stage with an idea, to getting WRAP’s support to develop the script, and then the Production Investment itself, up to this point where we are now, on the verge of showing our show to audiences across the world.
